I've made multiple accounts on Twitter, all of which racked up to like 1k posts in just a few months before I abandoned them for miscellaneous reasons. I made my most recent around these past few months. I got into an argument with some random; I didn't even realize it, but we kept responding to each other for HOURS trying to offend each other. I looked over it and was actually so embarrassed I had made like 50+ comments. I quit Twitter and Reddit today because of that, backing away from mainstream social media and moving to forums. There's WAYYY more to the internet than the popular stuff.
I started learning Blender, and I enjoyed it. I spent days' worth of time on Twitter; I didn't care, frankly, I was bored, but I never got off of it because I saw no social alternatives (Reddit isn't much different, and I was a complete wuss and was TERRIFIED of 4chan LOL.) I spent so much time being a "troll" towards randoms, I probably could've learned to code and actually do something I enjoy (gaming and game development) with the amount of time I spent being an anti-social cunt, but here I am, with thousands of social media posts to my many usernames and ZERO online friends.
Frankly, I'm happy to be getting off the sort of "front page of the internet" and start exploring. I'm just disappointed I didn't do this earlier; I missed out on so much.
