I've more or less given up on it. I don't think I've had the holiday spirit for like… a decade now. Maybe if there was a proper winter wonderland around I'd get some fuzzy feelings, but I sincerely doubt it.

magicrabbit To be honest, they seem to be a constant here. Grown men waking up excited every morning to open a little window and see a picture of an elf and have 57kcal of chocolate. I am the grown man in this hypothetical.

Fantasy I kind of hate doing presents to be honest. With Amazon and all the other cheap Chinese shit, everyone has so much stuff already that it's both impossible and ridiculous to buy them anything. It's a shame, because there's no better feeling than giving a well-thought out, well-suited present.

I feel the same way mostly. That's why any gifts I give are usually snack related. I don't engage with too many people unable to just simply buy the things they want or the things they want are outside of my financial capabilities. My little sister wants an iPad for example and I can't afford that so instead she gets a blanket and her favorite chocolate.
I don't give people giftcards or anything that would feel wasteful. Never buy any cheap Chinese junk. I used to give my little siblings cash but now they have jobs so it means much less to them.

There is a coworker that told me about him and his wife doing advent calendars. They make them for one another filling each day with little treats they know the other person will enjoy a lot. I like that idea better than chocolate every day. I know the irony being that I am including chocolate in my gifting this year.

I managed to wrap the presents with good time left for once
Now just got the Christmas Day to spend with my family

Lumeinshin I had a great christmas. My dad surprised me with a griddle but also got me to make pancakes for him and everyone with it.
It was a good day, everyone seemed to enjoy their gifts.

Hope you and everyone else had as good of a Christmas as I did.
