I always visit my folks for Christmas. They're getting a little bit old now, but aren't we all one way or another. Best to spend as much time as you can with your loved ones, the time remaining is so finite.
This year we've decided to just do stockings, so just some small quality of life things normally - like soap or cookies. I always get YuGiOh cards because the dollar store here sells them in bulk for practical pennies even though I haven't played paper in literal decades. That's fine though, I like the art. We figure there isn't much point in getting each-other a bunch of consumerist plastic tat, replacements for things that were just fine, or books we'll never read, so a small Christmas is better. It also helps when I haven't had a job in almost a full year.
On the day of, we go to a local arcade every year and join the party there- we've been family friends with the owner for over 25 years now so it's just as much as a tradition as putting up the tree. Only problem is that there isn't much of a Christmas dinner every year, just a bunch of snacks and finger food.
What do people do for Christmas dinner?
