Unless I'm being stupid, which is very possible, there is no thread for general chatting. Hopefully this will fix that. How has your day been?

sonoko there... isn't one? I don't think so aaaanyway
Happy for the thread to exist of course!

I've had a busy day, had to stay late at work then rush out to meet someone so i've only just sat down to rest.
    Anything exciting your end?

      I’ll contribute.

I spent 3 damn hours today making dumplings, but it was kind of lacklustre because I used the wrong protein. I feel cheated. I really think chicken mince is the best for dumplings, but they were out of it at the grocery store, so I used regular ground beef, which imo is too heavy. The worst part is that I already knew this but didn’t want to go to another grocery store. Here’s a poorly lit picture of the fruits of my labour:

I finally found my aux cable today after years of searching so I can finally hook my computer up to my stereo, so I can’t complain. Hope everyone is having a nice friday.

I have been a vegetarian since a little kid and only recently started eating meat. Open my mind to the world of dumplings, what must a newcomer try?

sonoko What made you switch teams?

Honestly I’m not much of a dumpling connoisseur, I just make them from time to time when I want dinner for the next five days solved. Ginger is really the key ingredient to a good dumpling in my humble opinion. Anything with fowl is good. I rarely have them but duck is quite good for dumplings.

Dumplings with ginger? Now that is something I never heard of. Just how much do you add?

sonoko pretty surreal how everyone goes about their day to day lives and for a few moments we start gabbing on here. may be late to the party but the day went well, hope everyone has a good day whenever they check this thread out!

I don't know. I had been a vegetarian since I was literally about 7 and I just thought "hey, you gotta try these things in your life".

                Noted, thank you.

Especially on a forum as small as this. That's a good thing though, this place is comfy. I really hope it stays that way.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week. Life may be busy, but when we can get back to our comforts, it makes it all worth it.

It was 33 degrees here in the UK today which is frankly absurd. We're not prepared for it. I work at a place where business levels can vary pretty drastically depending on weather and up until now our weather has been too bad to be busy. Now, it's too good to be busy. We Englishmen get a bad rap when it comes to complaining about our weather but, you know what, I think we're completely justified in all of our complaints.

sonoko hey, i've also been vegetarian for as long time. did you feel a discomfort when eating meat for the first time. this does t have to be moral discomfort but just the general strangeness that comes with trying new foods. if so, how did you overcome it?

Ross_R About two tablespoons of diced ginger per 500g mince in the recipe I use. Just enough to give it a little zing.

sanner There's definitely a weird feeling of "holy shit this was an animal" and it can be kind of offputting to think about all the fibres and muscles and things like that but it went away relatively quickly to be honest, mostly just because I liked the taste so much.

I strained muh back yesterday by trying to yank a wet comforter out of the washing machine (it was like 25lb wet and wrapped around the agitator). Feelin' like an old man today.

Not even the first time this has happened. Hopefully second time's the charm and I learn my lesson this time.

Just found out there is a Hardstyle Event next week in my area and I had almost missed it so I'm pretty excited. Just hoping it won't be too hot.

Our combined moaning about the heat has served us well as always, its been pretty moody this week

                          I hope it is/was good!

My sense of time has gotten totally shot over the past couple years so i'm trying to organise myself a bit better 😅

Lumeinshin Yeh I'm doing fine now. I just got to LARP as a man forty years older than me for a couple days. I think between starting a new exercise routine and doing yard work for a couple hours that day I just overdid it a bit. Taking it a little easier this week and trying to find some bodyweight stuff I can do to reinforce my back.

In other news I'm trying to learn (and eventually run) a new tabletop system. Hc Svnt Dracones 2.0 which is basically 'what if the solar system was a hyper corprotized dystopia but also everyone was furries? And there's some eldritch horror stuff happening on Jupiter/Europa/Earth too.'

Despite the admittedly niche elevator pitch there's a bunch of interesting stuff happening under the hood and it's one of the only systems I've been interested in running in it's stock setting. It's also got a kind of weird dice resolution system that I'm interested to see play out, although I worry my table is going to find it clunky due to having to compare check difficulties against their stats all the time. Hopefully they'll just get used to it.
