kurisu For when you do end up drinking when you're out, what's your go-to for lighter cocktails? Sounds like we might have pretty similar tastes, and I'd love to have something new to try next time I have the choice.

Comsat Rex I haven't tried lots of combinations, but one of my favorites has to be gin with fanta lemon (AKA gin kas). Another pretty popular one, this one being the on the lighter side, has to be wine with coca cola, the famous kalimotxo, as we call it. Both pretty typical drinks in my area, I like them. I should still try more stuff though

It is not that hard. I mean, at the very least it is easier than doing distillation and other moonshining stuff at home. Home-made wines and beers are easier.

Personally im the straight edge type of guy. I avoid alcohol and in general dont like it.
Tough i do occasionally drink a beer with people but thats a rare occurrence.

I don't drink, but I think you fellow drinkers can answer my question. so I was given a homemade tincture of cannabis and the proccess my buddy said was with alcohol, now is the alcohol in the tincture inactive? or is it like cough syrup where enough of it will make you tipsy?

The latter, but it depends a lot on the overall abv of the solution. You'd have to check with him to figure out how high the concentration is.

Depends on the situation, really. If I’m fishing I like to knock back corona, modelo cheladas or some kind of refreshing beer. After work I like to mix Jim beam honey with Coke Zero and if I have nowhere to go or nothing to do, I’ll enjoy a jar of ole smokey white lightning, blue lightning or the pecan praline “moonshine”(really it’s just high ABV liquor).

I'm a guy with a sweet tooth. I just barely started to learn how to appreciate stuff like beer, but I love the taste wine and rum. My fav drink is the washington apple.

1) What kind of literal garbage did you drink? Best vodka I tried tasted like filtered water with a drop of honey.

philtheePEASANT I'm a guy with a sweet tooth. I just barely started to learn how to appreciate stuff like beer, but I love the taste wine and rum.

Now that's no wonder at all. Wines and rums are several drinks out there that quite often get some literal sugar added into them. Rums usually use caramel for coloring, while wines actually practice the so-called "dosage", plus they get fortified with the use of sugar as well.
And even without sugar, rum (being distilled from sugar cane) and wine (both the traditional and fruit wine) have rather sweet profiles due to the nature of the material they are made of.
You should definitely try quality liquors as well. Something like Mozart or Kahlua on ice is a good drink to pass an evening with.

hrm. really don't drink much. i cant stand hard alcohol but i don't mind beer. there's a certain sweet point of how high the AC vs the actual amount of liquid and how drunken you get ( eg. a shot or two of vodka is too disgusting for the level of inebriation; 3 cans are much more pleasant to drink and would give a worthwhile level of relaxation to someone of my size). it's sort of like a fun balancing game if you think about it. As for beer that tastes good, peroni is alright and busch light is dirt cheap. they honestly all taste the same to me. is it a sort of acquired taste?

Kauli Yeah pretty much how i feel about it. i wonder why people drink so much, especially young people who aren't trying to use it to cope with some factor. di they just enjoy having able to think? maybe that's it

Why? Maybe it's because it's so deeply engraved into society (like smoking) that people just do it because all the old guys (and young) are doing it.
You feel peer pressured into drinking because your buddy is shit faced and you don't want to be left out of it.
And also all those movies depictions of those cool characters drinking whiskey from their cool whiskey cup.

I don't like booze. I already feel uncomfortable when I'm tipsy, and even if I don't get "proper" drunk, I don't feel all too well the morning after. I love booze bottles though, would be the kind of person to buy them just to have them on display (or steal empty ones from parties and fill them with coloured water).

Fantasy

I haven't had alcohol since thanksgiving. Almost bought some today at the grocery store but decided against it. Not a huge fan of the taste, even high quality stuff. But I really like that room spinny feeling and that's about the only reason I ever drank.
Holidays are different since peer pressure. Never forced on me but it's rude to say no when someone offers you a drink regardless on my general feelings towards it.

I don't drink very often, and almost only in social gatherings. Most of my friends don't like alcohol though, so I don't get to drink often.
I love hard cider and mead. Cider is a staple in my country so it's easy to find the good brands. Mead is more difficult to find so I usually stock up whenever I find a good brand selling in festivals. My favorite mead is a dutch brand named Heathen Mead, I especially like their chestnut flavored mead.
Otherwise I like sake (weeb), but it's more difficult to find people interested in drinking with me.
