New to this site, what's it like here?

I saw the ad on 4chan, which is going into the dumpster because of conscious and unconscious moves by various individuals, is this place any different? What do you like it about it folx?

Not a dick measuring thing, just curious about people on this site

I've read ~10 manga
I've read ~50 manga
I've read ~250 manga
I've read 1000+ manga

I will be frank: I believe I haven't read even one so far. Feel like writing it out because there's no poll option for that.

I like the site because it's chill and cozy. Not much more to it.

As for manga, I'll get really deep into a manga series once or twice a year. Last year it was Fire Punch (which I didn't like) and Jyoshikohei which... I really liked but is difficult to recommend because it is some whack shit. Fantastic ending on that one.

I need to go back and finish Dungeon Meshi now that the anime is out.

I used to read a lot more manga back in the late 2000s and early-mid 2010s but I much prefer a physical copy of what I'm reading and manga just gets too expensive to justify that kind of cost. I still keep up with a few series and read manga from time to time though. I do miss the days of manga magazines like Jump that I could flip through on the toilet, introduced me to a lot of good stuff.

I still read doujin as much as ever though!

Nowadays I read less than I used to but I still occasionally follow some new mangas from different sources on tachiyomi.

I've only read 3 so far but have a lot on my reading list

It is, according to the links I find for it. Although sometimes I see it split into 'Jyoshi kohei' or 'Joshi Kouhei.'

Premise is that there are giant mecha schoolgirls used to fight an interdimensional war, and then the whole thing just sorta continues going off the rails from there.
I only heard about it thanks to a /k/ manga reccomendation thread a while ago. Otherwise I don't think I've seen a word about it online.

I think that may have been the same thread I heard about Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō in, which is also an excellent manga but way more cozy Slice of Life than mindbending surrealism. One of the few manga I've read where I would just take screencaps of random pages because of the art.

MangaTuber I have never really read a ton of manga till the end, ive read volumes of certain manga but rarely to the end, if doujins count I think I've read a lot lol.

Golden Kamuy. 31 volumes. An all-time favorite.

I've only read two mangas made in abyss and berserk. I just finished berserk yesterday and it was very fun.

I've finished about fifteen. Thing with manga is that they tend to keep going on forever, so it's hard to 'finish' them in their entirety which tends to keep me from wanting to get into them. Lately I've taken the measure of reading them in volumes, which did help a bit.

I got into manga more than I did into anime

I used to read manga a tons, my parents used to buy me yugioh manga at the bookstore when it had a tiny spinner as its manga section and then I'd take it into school to read (this was back when that kind of thing made you considered the weird kid)
We didn't really have Internet that was usable so I only had the physicals from that shop. I remember reading the first d-gray man a ton

I got way more into anime and manga specifically toward the end of my primary school time. I had those "how to draw manga" books which I loved. Once I got more into tech I got easier access to reading manga and such.
The most recent thing I bought was the junji ito frankenstein manga. Its quite nice

I’ve been reading manga for years now, but when I first started reading I was super picky so I only ever read the same 5-8 manga over and over again. The amount of unique manga that I’ve read is now between 50-60, but if you count rereads then that number is a lot higher.

I've read about a hundred. My tastes are quite specific (the reason I dropped anime and started reading manga), so I'm quite picky. That being said, I'm currently reading "Ghost Tower". It's not that peculiar, to be honest. Your generic murder mystery with paranormal elements. And, of course, cross-dressing (but female one, at least). Weak and effeminate protagonist, incestous subplots, typical Japanese stuff, you get the gist. The only reason I'm reading it is because my ex had a panel from it as a phone screensaver.
