These would be such a great sandwich, if they were more filling. I can eat four of them at once and still have enough room for chips on the side. Once I had dinner made for me, and it was just one BLT. I had to leave and grab more food an hour later.

BLTs are amazing with mayonnaise, especially if you put on a slice of avocado as well.

Doc I am not a sandwich police, so whatever bread that is on sale (usually whole wheat and split top wheat) and any kind of jam will work. I am trying to be healthier, so I have replaced jam with fresh fruits instead. So far I have had success with raspberries (probably my favorite), strawberries, bananas, mango, and peaches. Remember to drizzle with cinnamon.

Pickled herring on crispbread is tough to beat. You’re supposed to eat it with aged cheese but I rarely go that far.

A grilled cheese with bacon and tomato is my go-to.

Or (If I'm struggling) I'll put mayo on white bread, add turkey slices, american cheese, thick cut tomato slices with some salt, and then some potato chips before crowning my king.

Also I think there should be a food tag of something.

Some ham/salami and cheese makes a simple and tasty panini sandwich. I have a panini press that I've been using for many years.

damas I love paninis! I make mine by pressing the sandwich between two skillets, since I don't have a press. I prefer grilled cheese and egg myself, however.

I've had some good sanwhiches. ones in particular I would like to try again is from Vermont. Its a cold sub of either ham or turkey with all the fixings, along with fresh crisp green apple slices. Was curious how it would taste and I was surprised how well balanced it actually was. its supposedly one of their signature dishes or at least regionally.

I recently rediscovered the joy of the simple ham sandwhich, after not having eaten ham for maybe 13 years. Simplicity is often enough.

toast the bread until the edges are getting crusty. It's underrated (I do it when im needing to defrost bread a bit)

I had a conversation with my dad the other day about what the most "classic sandwich" is.
I was thinking 'peanut butter and pickle' but he seemed pretty adamant that most people wouldn't have even have heard of that. That's crazy to me. I probably had thousand of them before I finished high school, and he was probably the one that made the first few hundred. Is this a well-known sandwich?

Maybe I should have said 'peanut butter and jam' or 'ham and cheese'?

Somnolence I've definitely never heard of a PB&Pickles, whereas I've heard of a PB&J, but that's mostly an American thing from what I know. I'd give my bet to grilled cheese or cheese and ham.

i love sandwiches! i eat many types of them. ham and swiss, tuna sandwiches, egg sandwiches (both Japanese style and scrambled/fried eggs), pb&j, BLT, chicken bacon ranch. i'll even go for something like a cuban or monte cristo if i'm really wanting something out of the ordinary. i don't really have a favorite i don't think, as it really depends on what i'm in the mood for. i have a pretty varied taste. 🙂

Somnolence i've never heard of anyone ever eating a peanut butter and pickle sandwich until now... what the hell LOL. i mean, as long as you like it i suppose.
