Woland this was pretty much how both of my albums on my bandcamp were made. Once a week I would spend 3-4 hours working on a song. My rule was not to spend more than one day working on any one song. However, for a few songs I broke that rule.
Typically, I am too busy with my normie job, so I can only really spend so much time on any one song. That is why I prioritize a ABA song structure that is very simple. Spending so little time in one song does force you to get better at your own song writing abilities.
Right now I am working on writing a book, or else I would be working on my next batch of songs. The last song I made was at the beginning of December for a friend. The rule was the same, no longer than 3-4 hours for a song.
