The STRUGGLE thread: in which we do not suffer alone

Gonna be starting on 12 hour shifts for school for the next two months, sometimes on weekends too. This SUCKS, but I'd like to make the most of it. I'm a firm believer in the fact that nobody suffers alone, even if it feels like our problems are totally unique in this world. I wanted to make this thread for people to share their struggles in life and for offer each other hope. We're all in this together!

Yeah man, things are tough out there.
I'll soon be out of work for about 18 months- and it'll be time to do more than just think about switching careers.
Between wars, price of gas, AI, enshitification, climate crisis, and demographic collapse- there isn't really a lot to be hopeful for these days. But you're right when you say we're all in it together, tomorrow is another day, and the only way out is through.

Somnolence For me, I find that it's the small daily things in life that carry me. Playing games with friends, taking walks and looking at the clouds and sunset, or just feeling my sheets under me when I crawl in bed. These are the things that I look forward to when things are tough. Good luck friend and stay strong!

I get the struggle. It's certainly easy to want more, and to feel like we're making an impact in the world. Sometimes that's beyond our means in the moment though, and there isn't much glory in being "the best pizza delivery boy in town".
If I were to give any advice, I'd say think about where else in your life you could excel. Maybe that's creative, maybe that's a fitness goal, it could even be a simple personal goal - like reading a book a month. It doesn't take a lot to feel like you've accomplished something, and maybe best of all, this can be done pretty cheaply.
