Xbox is doing it too, so as I've said, the bigger thing I care about, they will take away your digital libraries. Steam told Germany to fuck off when they wanted age verification, I have a feeling they won't completely pull out from the UK however, just like in 2018 they claimed they won't cave to activists or payment processors yet they folded instantly today.
nat Ofcourse they won't, best you got is threatening them with GDPR in email if you're in the EU. I'd just recommend you use Discord Chat Exporter regularly then run the mass deletion userscript. Apply this to all other platforms too, save anything you wanna keep, delete anything you want gone, right now, they can lock you out anytime, be prepared.
MQ Yeah the only slight positive side effect I see of this that it'll be the ultimate filter, I complain about not being able to find good people and places online anymore, well if they really are gonna ruin the internet anyone who will survive without doxxing will be the ones who passed the test so maybe it'll be easier to find likeminded people, I expect most people to give in, I'm still mentally preparing myself on how to cope with losing my game libraries.
Windows 11 requires Microsoft account in general, nothing to do with OEMs, install it right now on your PC or a VM, you need account, there are some bypasses but they are constantly patching them out. Also new Microsoft accounts can no longer use passwords, you need the Microsoft Authenticator app on a modern smartphone and sooner or later they will disable password login on existing accounts.
Yeah I need to get into crypto even tho I really don't want to, well mostly because most crypto is bought on centralized KYC exchanges which I refuse to use. I don't do anything where I could get paid in crypto or whatever so I'm stuck at the first step on how to acquire it.
Absolutely thats the most important, rebuilding. I would've never done it before but if its gonna be as bad as I suspect it could get, may as well figure out to run my own sites, I have a ton of stuff archived, just get that back out shared again somehow.
