thought I'd add one in for this year! Don't know if this thread will last more than a day, perhaps another question too would be did you celebrate easter? do you celebrate easter? do you gather with family and friends? lunch is gonna be good today!

don't know if tags are on topic of discussion so lume feel free to change em as they seem fit!

Happy Easter to all! I'm not sure why, but this year was something else for me.

Maybe it was seeing two people baptized at the Easter Vigil last night, or maybe it was the Epistle reading for today that just hit home.

(Corinthians 5:7) :
7 Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new paste, as you are unleavened. For Christ our pasch is sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us feast, not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Your old self died on the cross on Good Friday, and you are made new today with Christ. It's a new year. Everything is new and fresh! 😃 Praise be to God!

I saw two baptized at vigil too! didnt even feel like 3 hours, went by quick. very beautiful!

double pay? sounds like alot of places would have to do that for a holiday like this

No Easter celebration for me this year, I have to work, but I get compensated very well for it as its a very big holiday here. Usually its a great time to visit family and relax.

frijole del alta Yeah its double at least, depending on local agreements. Times were a lot of places used to be closed on Easter, but more and more stores are open full-time these days.

Easter isn't all too religious where I am, or in my family- so it's just another commercial holiday.
Even still, it's a good excuse to gather with friends and family so I won't complain.

Back in my altar boy days, Holy Week was my favorite set of masses to serve and Holy Thursday was the best.

Nickname

I participated to the Good Friday procession hosted by the local parish but failed to go to an Easter mass. Been up and sleep deprived for days because of the mounting demands and deadlines my unreasonable boss keeps giving me. I should finish all of it before May

I had a roast dinner with the future in-laws and played some board games with their family

It's one of the rare years when catholic easter aligned with orthodox... or so I've been said, at least. Anyway, this year I'm too busy to celebrate. Usually though, I bake my own easter cakes. Because almost all of those that are in the shops contain raisins and I kinda hate raisins. To find one without raisins is next to impossible, and so I learned to bake them myself.
Anyway, as I said, not in this year. It's been job time for me. Hope you had a good one.
