I actually use it as my main email, I hope its nothing serious that they can't sort out, there were some connection issues a while back but mostly seems to work fine right now.
marc Nickname Protonmail is shit because it doesn't give you client support unless you pay. So when you'll get tired of opening it in a browser tab and wanna set that up you'll be disappointed.
I wish they had a SMTP only free plan instead of a bunch of free storage and whatever, I think its very wrong to promote overt reliance on cloud shit when you're positioning yourself as a privacy respecting providers, nothing more private than storing your own data not having to trust the cloud, they say free users benefit from the same encryption and whatnot as paid and thats great and all but isn't being able to also own your mail you know in case they go bust or ban or delete you for inactivity is kind of important?
They also don't take any private payments, their clients for Linux either suck or are nonexistent.
I understand they're trying to go mainstream but I'm really not sure thats a winning strategy, its like Firefox copying Chrome in attempts to steal some of its userbase without realizing that Chrome is only used due to default bias not any of its functionality so copying it will just drive away the powerusers who are the only ones who will ever consider using it to begin with.
