Fantasy People are going to do what they always do and efficient the fun away, me included.
There's a thread around here that goes along the way of "what went wrong with video games", and, perhaps, this is a perfect example of what went wrong: games are now designed for people who "efficient the fun away". I wonder how much of functions has been cut out with that kind of thoughts in the mind of the devs or the management.
If you really like navigating the terrain and there's a fast travel button, just do not click that button. It is that easy, really.
Also, it is definitely the reason I hate online gaming. Looks like I'm the last man on earth who doesn't go for the fastest car, or for the most damaging weapon, or whatever is meta. People nowadays are so efficient I'm not sure they even remember what fun is.
