Well, turns out in ain't that hard to differentiate between a real post and one made with ChatGPT, right?
That said, that's not a worthless topic. AI and LLM made leaps and bounds in the space of a few years, or even months, and it stands to reason that it will keep improving. The day where AI and real posts are indistinguishable may be around the corner!... Or is it?
Actually, enthusiasm in AI is already slowing down, as its cost outweigh its performances and we struggle to find new applications for its use. Remember that ChatGPT and most free to use LLMs work on borrowed time, it will come the day where its use will be limited, either due to the exorbitant cost of its servers not being bailed out by OpenAI stocks, or because governments will literally ask to shut it down (this is a real possibility). That's not to say we won't have AI in the coming years, rather that it will be limited in its use.
TINT So there is nothing wrong with assuming, that everyone here is not an actual human. It isn't a bad thing at all, it just is what it is.
That, on the other hand, I think is a real danger that you're understating. In fact since the beginning of this thread, you've told us to distrust posts on the grounds of being posted by bots, but without saying why a post by a bot should be distrusted. Because really, what's the big deal with a post being posted by a bot? A post is a post, whomever or whatever posted it, if its content is worthwhile, should I care who posted it? Lumeishin himself pleaded guilty of ChatGPT usage, but it was for the purpose of making a generic opening post that needed absolutely no creative input to make. Should we berate him for using tools at his disposal to complete a menial task?
The real problem of bots making posts, is not that humans are getting replaced. Far from it, there are no rogue bots roaming the internet, this isn't GitS (yet). No, the problem is that bots are actual humans, or rather sent by humans, for very specific reasons. And usually, it's to give the feeling that a fringe opinion is actually widespread, by making a multitude of accounts spread this fringe opinion. But to be honest, this is not a problem with bot specifically. You could do that without bots, AI just makes it easier to do. So then what?
Actually I'm not sure where I was going with this. What I mean to say is, I don't care (much) if people use AI to generate their posts, as long as their identity is only linked to a single account on this website. Just be critical of what you read.
Sorry for the unstructured rant, I felt I wanted to say something but turns out that was not as coherent as I thought. Guess I'm not an AI huh? Anyway stay safe beep boop
