The only TCG I've played is Yugioh. Kinda ran out of friends to play it with over the years but I still played online sometimes until Pendulum monsters got introduced, but I still keep up with new things happening in the game through a youtuber. I think game was best midway through the Xyz era, at least at my casual level, but the bare bones gameplay you'd find in the PS1 game Forbidden Memories is still the most comforting to me.
As an aside, I think Force of Will is the card game with the most beautiful card backs and high quality cardboard I've ever seen. Never played it, though it seems to be "What if we played Magic the Gathering but put all our lands in a separate deck?"
