I will write my fascination with this game that released in 2008 (pls note I will not add punctuation or proper grammar to anything)
Dead Space was such a delightful game when I first had the opportunity to play
not sure if you guys know of it probably considering a remaster is coming out pretty soon for its you guys do but it’s a survival horror that released for PC, ps3 and Xbox
In totality the atmosphere of the game is unmatched its coated in this eerie dread with all the corridors lightly lit or flickering lights, floor soaked in blood with blood smeared against the walls, and strange noises going on throughout the entire ship
when you arrive you are playing as an Engineer who is looking to help repair the ship or check out what happened due to a communications black out you are in company of Hammond a Security guy and some communications chick (don’t remember her exact specialty) on a side note you have a gf that is missing and was working in the medical deck. The level of panic set in on the first encounter is surreal. The ship goes into a sort of lockdown due to foreign objects in the room, sirens blaring, lights go out, and you have a hazard light spinning illuminating the room in cycles as you watch in horror as the denizens of the dark demolish your crew mates and You have to RUN. Quickly these monstrosities essentially overrun you spawning all around you while you have no weapon no health pack and hope you find some solace from this amalgamation of flesh and horror.
You come across a dying man who with his dying breath scrawled “cut off their limbs” with his blood. You pick up this tool of the mining trade a plasma cutter and hear a man banging on the door next to you begging to be let in. You notice the door is locked so you cut the wires keeping the door locked and open the door just in time to see this man get slaughtered by a necromorph.
Necro morph is two parts Necro meaning the dead or dead tissue and morph being shape or structure and with the crew of the USH Ishimura being missing and these monsters everyone you can only assume these monsters were the former crew
Ill leave the rest for you guys to discover be it a YouTube video or play It yourself. I played it on a ps3 first and so far, have never had an issue on there I’ve heard pc is kind of messy
And if you are as enamored as me on first playthrough the second game is a beautiful addition
Calisto protocol seems mixed and the 3rd one Id skip all together wasn’t really a great addition but if you absolutely must you can There’s also Dead Space Extraction that normally comes bundled in with Dead Space 2
