Ross_R being always in chat is just like having a browser tab open. I'm often not talking with a mic and it's just text. And even then it's not always, like right now for example I do not have any chats open. I usually open it after dinner time when I know I have hours of free time to hang with buds or whatnot.

Fantasy being always in chat is just like having a browser tab open.

That still rises an eyebrow from me. Being in the game and having a browser tab open? I guess, the closest I have to this is when I need a walkthrough, so I keep a tab on my phone, but even that is uncomfortable for me. I prefer to actually print walkthroughs when I have a chance. That, somehow, make it easier for me to switch from game to text. I... dunno, make of it whatever you feel like, just spilling my ways here.

I caved and have been playing Lethal Company with some friends. I'm not really great at horror games so I made a good bit of noise 😆 The game is quite fun, we used mods like the emote ones and had some fun with it. IDK how much staying power it'll have beyond the next few months but its been worth the money so far. I do still enjoy it and get spooked by things in the dark

Saying all that... I beat Resident Evil Village last night. Fun game I'd thought Chris was gonna turn out to be a werewolf or something from the trailer, so the game did go in a different direction than i'd thought it would. Although I think Re:7 actually had a better ending sequence and stuff than 8, it didnt fizzle out but it was a bit of a 'oh, its over now' imo. Still a fun game tho, i'm just hoping whatever they do next is as good since they wont be using Ethan I assume.

    Currently playing Grandia 2
I was expecting it to be janky but it controls perfectly fine for such an old game. It has a cookie cutter story so far, but the characters are surprisingly well written and I've grown to love them all.
Combat is turn based but different than what I'm used to in this genre. Character icons run along the time-bar at the bottom and
you pick an action at the COM(mand) line. The red section is more or less skipped if you just attack, but if you decide to cast anything with a charge time, you'll slowly be creeping toward the end where it executes - this allows interference where you can cancel enemy attacks or deal more damage if you hit them right before they would hit you. Enemies can do the same. This makes for some interesting strategy where you will often pass up damage in favor of tripping up your enemy.
On top of that, the battlefield is a 3D space where your characters have to physically move toward their targets, and they run out of breath if they take too long to reach them. Characters can get in each other's way, too.

      Gregem
Grandia 2 is on my list of games to play, I bought it on a GOG sale a while back and have just been waiting to play it. I had a dreamcast as a kid but never played that on it. I did play Skies of Arcadia though, that was a great RPG on the dreamcast!

        Lumeinshin
Just watched a summary of Skies' systems and boy am I glad Grandia 2 doesn't have random encounters. Otherwise I'd put it on my backlog, but now I can just replay FF12 instead.

Gregem Yeah thats fair, random encounters can be a bit of a pain sometimes

I've just grabbed the FF7 remake on sale on steam, so i'm hoping to see whether thats as good and bad as i've heard.

I'm also in the mood to play animal crossing lol

I dont think 4chan threads serve as great links given they expire 😆
It will be interesting to see though, i've only ever watched stalker gameplay. I do have a few friends that love the series and sing its praises

Looks like EA is bringing some of their old games back to steam.
            I wonder on what occasion.
Additionally I hope they will bring back old nfs titles as well(though unlikely because of music joos and toyota)

            Command & Conquer Generals
Command & Conquer Red Alert, Counterstrike and The Aftermath
            Dungeon Keeper Gold
            Dungeon Keeper 2
            Populous
            Populous II
            The Saboteur
            Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
            SimCity 3000

            Steam Sale Link here!

Janny note: I've removed the store links because they can be a bit of a pain on users performance and took up a lot of space, so I put the whole sale link there instead.

1996FordMondeo Damn! My favorite game. I've been having hell trying to run the old copy I had since the 2000s on my Linux machine, with how cheap it is on Steam I may just be tempted to buy it as well...

              https://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/669602030
in this thread you can find instructions on how to buy just the RA2 I paid 1,5€ for it while full pack with all games is 10€
though protondb has rated the game as silver so idk how good it runs
rn im just playing cnc remaster
also what about openra or what its called?

              Edit
Since i know that eventually the thread die ill just paste the instructions here
              For everyone wondering

go to steamdb page for the cnc game you want
              then go to packages
and then click the subid for the game itself

Add steamdb extension to your browser(just hit add to cart when its greyed out)
log into steam on the same browser
then hit add game to cart

Here is the link for Red alert 2 specifically
              https://steamdb.info/sub/799317/

1996FordMondeo though protondb has rated the game as silver so idk how good it runs

I don't believe I've tried it with proton yet, my last attempt with regular old WINE gave me broken menus and non-functional resolution. If it's at silver then I suppose there's a way to play it?

1996FordMondeo also what about openra or what its called?

The engine only supports RA1, Dune II and Tiberium Dawn as far as I know, you can download the game files from OpenRA itself since EA made them freeware, Red Alert 2 isn't.

I caved and bought Helldivers II. Its definitely a fun game and scratches a bit of the same itch I remember Destiny scratching.
If somehow you don't know, the game is a third person shooter (you can enter first person for aiming down sight), PVE game where you do objectives on a map and extract, leveling up to gain more gear+weapons

I named my ship THE STEWARD OF VICTORY. I'll be grinding after work 😞

Kidna caved in and bought arkham collection
not into capeshit but for some reason couldnt pass 5€ pricetag for the key
