For me,
I played the big box edition of Half Life that my dad owned, with the base game, blue shift, opposing force and the original counterstrike.
I didnt play online and I mostly replayed the first 2ish hours of HL since I was awful at the puzzles.
Weirdly, since CounterStrike Condition Zero had bot support, I spent most of my GoldSrc time playing that version of CS. I was ultimately definitely more of a Source Baby, although I adore the visuals of the GoldSrc engine.
Do check out Cry of Fear if you like horror games, it looks like a source engine game, but is a goldsrc one. (they did use a new renderer from another mod/fangame which is how it does some cool effects like bump mapping etc)
