Does anybody here like MF DOOM as much as I do?
BTW, here's my ranking of his albums. That's right, I think Vaudeville Villain and Operation: Doomsday are mid. I simply do not enjoy more "classic" rap that much: I prefer if rap songs use samples and weird beats (which explains why The Mouse and the Mask and Born Like This are so high in the list).

Eugehi I hadnt heard anything by him, not really into rap. But I heard the track Doomsday and it just reminds me of the knuckles rap in Sonic Adventure 2. Not bad 😆

lame as hell. if you look at some of the greatest prog rap artists of the 21st century (e.g. dj shadow, ye, kendrick lamar, etc.) you'll see a pretty noteworthy amount of oldschool influence on their work, for good reason. it was an incredibly experimental and influential time in hiphop

You should listen to Vaudeville Villain, then. I think you'd enjoy it a lot. The opening track is such a banger.

DOOM HEAD HERE!!! I am gonna start off by causing controversy and giving my favorite doom albums.

MM..FOOD - some of my favorite bars and beats. I could listen to this album anytime. I think this is really the definitive DOOM album.
Born Like This - I know this is controversial, but I really like this album. It's not his best, but I really just like it. Born Like This is one of my favorites.
Madvillain - Most people's no. 1. Still in my top 5. It's such a good album.
Operation Doomsday - more controversy lol. I just remember having a good time blasting this in my car in high school.
Vaudeville Villain - I am the opposite of you, I am a classic hiphop fan. Which is why my next DOOM album is not a DOOM album...
Black Bastards - I know this isn't DOOM, but I really like this album. It is sad to think that his brother passed away before this album released. What could have been if Subroc were still around?
The Mouse and The Mask - great DOOM album and I really like Danger Mouse's Grey Album when this came out, so it became one of my favorites. Not one I replay much, but I always enjoy it.
Take Me to Your Leader - not my fave classic DOOM album, but one I still enjoy a lot.
Special Herbs + Spices Volume 1 - I really enjoy this when I want some DOOM but I don't want to focus to much on the poetry.
Everything else - Not going to write much else, I find his newest stuff to be kind of mid and the source of all of the /mu/ memes. There will never be another DOOM imo.

Good to see there is a fellow DOOM fan. If you like MF DOOM, I really enjoyed this instrumental tribute album that does the beats from Madvillain arranged for a Jazz Orchestra. Fun stuff:

Come on man, you could've at least mentioned "Venomous Villain" in your ranking. I know it's not a long album (and that its cover art sucks - what was the Insomniac crew thinking?), but it has some underrated gems such as Titty Fat, R.A.P. G.A.M.E., and Bloody Chain. A project which had a lot of potential, IMO.

Other than that, nice ranking. The Abstract Orchestra album is cool too.

Eugehi lol i'm sorry. I do like venomous villain. I was just blasting that the other day. even DOOM's mid-shit is better than a lot of artist's best.

I have been listening to more oldschool rap recently and I'm starting to enjoy it a lot more than before. Vaudeville Villain and Operation: Doomsday are both strong 4/5s.

Eugehi agree, honestly doomsday is probably my favorite album from him. Something about it is very endearing. I love his verse about his dead brother on “?”
