Story behind mine: I was listening to "I Love Your Smile" by Shanice WIlliams when I was signing up.

I was originally going to basically have max opsec and write a politics and tech blog, then ended up going on the fediverse and being active there, and then made friends and other accounts and it all sorta fell thru, now this is just a different username. At the time I just was making sounds and writing them down until it sounded okay

shanice A friend of mine who is Korean asked me if I wanted to see a really messed up movie called "OldBoy". We couldn't find any streaming service that provided it, so I had to buy a dvd copy from Korea. It was very messed up.

I honestly just wish I was better at coming up with names, I spend many minutes of my life staring at dialogue boxes asking me for a name, only to go find an internet generator for one in case of my username in video games or come up with some random bullshit to use online
I did once see some people talking about it and they mentioned using the names of ancient cities or something similar as usernames, maybe if I had more knowledge about cool things like that I could name myself something interesting for once

My username comes from a variety of things. A few songs that were in regular listening at the time and that I prefer fantasy over sci-fi. It just tied together nicely and then I managed to snag the name in a popular MMO and it just stuck.

I am named after a randomly generated text sequence. It turned out though that this name is not so practical on the long run : in french (my native language by the way), "ça m'échappe" means "I don't get it". Oddly enough, my friends like to joke about it.

I saw my avatar and thought a cute killer bunny was cool and I also play dbd and I kinda thought murder bunny as in a bunny for murder would be a neat double meaning. It is similar to a friends handle on dbd to so there was that.

It has no meaning (afaik), and it didn't bring up any search results on Google back when I picked it, so it's all mine.
Ask chatgpt, and it'll tell you merulox is a username used by some individuals. Look it up on google, and all you'll find will be my socials. cool stuff

I just came up with HSR_Taka one day. It's complete gibberish. Sometimes I joke about it standing for "Holobolo Sakélaké Rikkitikki Takalakawéwé"

I think Taka means "falcon" or something in Japanese. I came up with this name long before I became a weeb, so that's a coincidence.

"taka" by itself does indeed mean Falcon or Hawk, 「鷹」is the kanji for it

I was trying to think of a character name for a tabletop game and had been listening to a lot of Porter Robinson at the time, and wound up shortening 'Porter' to 'Port' for that character.
I didn't actually start using it as a username until about two years after that, though. I had been talking about the campaign on 4chan's /tg/ board, which got me invited to an online game run by an anon. He still calls me 'Port' to this day after my character and it's started to stick in our online group. But I lengthened it back to 'Porter' for whatever reason.

I decided to go by kurisu here just because I love the character (and steins;gate in general). I do go by another alias on other sites, which I thought of in the shower about 3 years ago. Yup, that's it.
