SUGGESTION: REP SYSTEM

I just want super goofy titles based on post count or account age
reputations are cool too I guess

Golden Rep systems tend to ruin online communities, users start believing the rep system more than the people they're actually talking to, makes things more impersonal and inhumane. I'm definitely against it in the context of small forums like this

What do you mean? Do you think people will ignore users with lower reputation? There's already the little tag next to a poster's handle. If reputation could be an issue that could be an issue as well.
I've never stuck around a forum without some form of growth. It sounds odd but it's just nice, gamified thing you can add to a forum.
What would be your alternative then if any?

People tend to take reputation systems too seriously and let those determine their first impressions of someone, the tag that lets people know how long one has used the forum for in comparison is pretty harmless, most users don't really care about that part
I say let people post as they wish and not get automatically scored so they can be honest with themselves and with others

I tend to agree with this, it kinda encourages people to say what they expect will be well received and some times censor their own opinions when they expect it will garner downvotes. Idt this would be a real problem here cause its a small community and all but still it makes me wonder.
