Can someone teach me how to use 4Chan properly?

ManFromTheFizz I think this is a good way to put it. I've used 4chan in the past and have learned to just stay away. It's not a good place for healthy people.

d100 I wholeheartedly disagree. 4chan used to provide a quality of content that could be found nowhere else. It's also one of those rare place that is not curated and optimised to say absolutely nothing at all in order to stays mainstream and spread the main political ideology. I admit the quality has been decreasing but if the alternative is reddit or Instagram fuck being healthy.

I have had the best luck in replacing the need of having to browse 4chan with small, niche imageboards, although most get infested by /uncomfy/ 4/8/whateverchan posters.

Although I think i've developed a mental filter to disregard some threads instantly.

I do really like some of the smaller little imageboards! I tend to lurk them once a week with the occasional post. I should post on the ones i frequent more.

What is the goal of doing that ? Depending on what boards you browse, 4chan can be an instructional and productive place. Of course spending hours browsing /b is not the best use of your time, but neither is browsing almost any subreddit. It really only comes down to how you want to use your time.

I really can relate to this, I am so used to browse this kind of places that I make an automatic and clear distinction between what is interesting, shitpost, troll, or actual schizoposting. Browsing any toxic forum is more about searching for the nuggets of good content than taking posts literally.

4chan can be an instructional and productive place.

I do not disagree with that one, I have had profound conversations and generally good posts/threads on 4chan. It is just that you have to shift through so many bad posts to find something worthwhile (unless I was looking in the wrong places..). It is easier for me to find substance and the aforementioned "worthwhile posts" in smaller chans than on 4ch. We can agree to disagree on that though.
