How are you feeling about your current Season of Life?

Sometimes we have a moment, obvious or otherwise where there is a clear line between one period of your life and another.

For me i'm pretty sure i'm entering a new one, new job, new home. Those are two pretty big things to happen at the same time and will be a big departure from before. So for me this is looking to be the start of a new season of life. Hoping its a good one of course but sometimes they can be more subtle changes. At what point would you make the distinction?

Have you entered a new phase of your life recently? When was the last switch up?

I've been reflecting personally lately and I've found the topic interesting. I would be interested to hear about my users!

I'm not sure if I could call it a shift in the season, but I do feel as though my figurative month has changed.

Maybe I'm in 'July' now. It's summer still, but it's no longer a good month where you enjoy the weather every day. The sun is high and the breeze is nice, but it's warm, and the days are dragging on longer than they did before. It's a ways away, but I know Fall will come, and Winter is next.

More and more I feel like time is finite, and I wonder what I'm doing with mine. Ridiculous, given it's still summer, but the thought consumes much of my time.

The chill has come in the air where I am, which is certainly promising (comfy season cometh), but perhaps more recently I changed my name. (I did it via enrolled deed poll. If you are British, do not do this. An unenrolled deed poll is equally official and faster and easier and cheaper - don't be retarded like me!). It's only a change of surname to match my stepfather who raised me, and in effect I have been going by this name in most walks of life for years anyway. But still, it's strange to think that the me with my old name is now gone forever, feels like a final farewell to my childhood in a way. Have some big life changes on the horizon, but nothing concrete and nothing I can particularly do, I just have to sit and wait. Been feeling rather good recently!

I like the perspective, Fall and Winter are cozy.
That sounds like a really big step you've taken, though at the same time I guess it's one you've been taking for some time.
Hopefully the paperwork didn't dampen the mood of it. I'm still going through the echoes a mistake I made on my taxes in 2023, I can't imagine what changing your last name involves.

I'm dying. A lot of my tech broke, and I struggle to repair stuff or buy alternatives. Winter means half a year under the cold, grey sky again. I hate it.

At least I had a nice summer. Lots of sun, some wild camping, and even managed to make some money... all of which are already gone by now, but if it wasn't for that money, I'd be pretty much crushed right now.

Lumeinshin I've finished university, and am becoming fully qualified at my job, but it feels so weird to work 4 days a week. I also feel like I'm going through every stage past high school on my own, there's no sense of "togetherness" that you often feel with peers as you work towards a common goal. So this season of life feels like a desolate one.

Thorius For what it's worth, you can make friends pretty easily at work- depending on the job. In university, there's often so much churn of people between classes you never really get to meet people unless you put in dedicated effort. When you're in an office, on a team, or even remote, you get to spend more time with your cohorts. So long as "company culture" isn't all too weird about it.
