I'd say "to a degree". Much like autism, it looks like it is a spectrum.
See, pretty much all my friends are in my TTRPG group I play with. So they are nerdy to a degree. Most of them do not pursue girls and are not much social.
That being said, the most social of our merry club are the ones who are best at running games and are most creative as well (aside from, well, me, because I am pretty much the only one who creates stuff all the time, explanation below). So they come out as kind of the most normie people, but at the same time they are the most autistic too somehow, as those two are the ones who can spend days fleshing out their worlds and TTRPG sessions.
At the same time, all of them have a regular job and stuff. Pretty much all of them play average multiplayer vidya too, like Hunt: Showdown. OK, there are eeven more normie choices, but still, I think they aren't going anyhow far from the mainstream.
Compare it to myself. I'm rather anti-social, the only one left who doesn't have a regular job, and so I spend most of my time writing, editing, modding, coding - trying to turn any of these creative endeavours into a job. I hardly watch at the mainstream media at all, all my stuff is underground or retro. Consequently, even though my friends are not totally normies, it is somewhat hard to build a conversation based on mutual interests in art and media. I love stuff like pixel games, one of other GMs simply can't stand them, only looking at the newest releases. He loves Warhammer, and I kinda love it too, but I can't stand anything newer 5th ed, while he is at - you guessed it - always looking for the newest release. They are all into anime somewhat, I like SWAT Kats and Starchaser: The Legend Of Orin. So when they watch that stuff with Megumin, I watch The Toxic Avenger.
So, judging by that video they've posted... Are the friends of mine that much of a normie, tha they won't understand the humour? I doubt it. Yeah, I'm not sure how much of them actually heard of Final Fantasy 7, but they would catch the weird, out-of-place edits, I'm rather sure of that.
Will they be able to compete with my level of autismo, because I can specifically name which particular sound clips belong to which cartoon? I doubt that. Maybe some of them will name the one from Tom And Jerry, but even that is a doubt.
And I have one friend, who could possibly compete with me. He would also be the only one, who'd I could squarely put into "not-a-normie" field. But, somehow, he is also not a part of our TTRPG group, so... I think, the question is quite complicated, all in all. I can't simply say if my friends are normies or not. As I said, if there was such an answer, I'd reply "to a degree".
