This forum is still alive. It may have some days with no posts. It still gets a good amount of activity, enough that I check back every day at least once.

Yeah I usually check once a day, not every topic will appeal to every person though so there are some dry spells between more 'hit' threads.
It certainly got noisy when 4chan shut down for however many days or weeks it was.

The site has been feeling really really slow these days. I feel like I can count maybe 8 or so active users max. New people drop in, post 1 thread, hardly engage with replies and just leave. How do we move away from this?

I actually feel like a lot of forums are like this. I've explored a couple of forums and they are all like pretty inactive for the most part so this forum is not particularly inactive in comparison to others. An exception is probably something like ResetEra but idk how it's like over there.

Do we have to though? I'm definitely quite comfortable with a slow community and a slow pace. I guess the only thing I could wish for is more classic design with pages and subs, if you know what I'm saying.
Either way, I do not think this place should get more users. Some more, mayhaps, but definitely not much more. IMO it will qucikly become a mess that would be hard to follow.

You know, it might be not a bad idea.
That being said, if you want to test your limits, you should go to Twitter or something. I'm here to be comfortable.
