Every now and then I translate lyrics of the songs I liked on english (if I know the language) Just these days around, I found an awesome band. I never heard such lyrics before. Real modern music. It's not about love or anything you usually hear about in songs, but about technology and stuff. Almost every song, really, save for a couple early ones that are a bit more pop, and several late ones about space. Anyway, most of the songs are awesome, in my opinion. I'll translate several examples below.
From a song named Radio Stations:
City is glowing
Station is glowing
The world sails by like a demonstration
Before the eyes of a humble user
Who is changed by someone in the needed direction
Everyone becomes a radiostation
New project of a strange civilisation
Who and why came up with all this?
But we are unlikely to be given the answers
From a song named Strange Video:
Moving away from fusses and petty worries
In video yoga we seek nirvana
Perhaps, we exist, but more likely we're not
We're screwed into the flatness of a TV screen
Anxious nights, troubled days
Years that we lived through are like an old movie
It's possible to degenerate, It's possible to grow
It's possible to get smarter, but it's better to watch
Strange video, strange video, strange video
Strange video, strange video, strange video
From a song named You Remember:
Movement within the accepted circuits
In the usual flow of everyday problems
We are not frightened now by what should frighten us
Strange, absurd alliance, life in an abstract movie
Instant contact by thought in a dream
A change of paintings in the morning in the window
Light in subway cars as an inquiring look
In the movement of a thousand faces - a fuse and a charge
You remember there was the sky
You remember the sun
You remember who you were on this Earth
You remember there was the sky
And there were stars
But you only see them now in dreams
From a song named No Connectivity:
We connect our phones
To new systems for the new tasks
But someone mysterious is watching everything
The moment he needs it - he'll turn everything off
Digitalization - weak spot
Of civilization of laughable interests
Do we need to digitize everything
If it's so easy to turn everything off?
From a song named Condenser:
Electrons to the right
Electrons to the left
Frequency is rhythmic
Of the electronic circuit
And operating mode
Supports condenser
Small helper
Frequency regulator
Condenser
Condensates
Motivates an engineer
To create circuits successfully
For a technical system
From a song named Videolife:
The problem of communication has become redundant
Hundreds of stories, and all are at home
Issues of creation of video library
Are much more accessible than a walk in the woods
Artificial world - reliability and quality
It's comfortable and portable
Pupils absorb TV signals
Consciousness fixates negatives
Frankly, I want to translate about a dozen of these songs on english. But I need help for this one. Since the language is rather technical, I need an editor - someone who will check the translations and correct them if needed.
If the lyrics above captured anyone's curiosity and he's ready to help - let me know. And if there won't be any interest - well, I guess there's no need for me to waste my time and translate those then. It takes time, after all, and I do not have much of that.
Aside from that, here are several examples of my translations that I managed upload as videos (not all of them got that far, some are left as simple text files on my PC):
If you translate lyrics as well - you are more than welcome to share them in this thread. Or just share some non-english songs with links to translated lyrics or something. Everything's welcome!
P.S.
@Lumeinshin
Lume, my dude, the fact that the forum cannot apply italics to the whole article and I have to apply it line by line has become a revelation - and a pain in the bottom. If you can do anything about it, that would definitely be cool.
