sanner What is it? This is a collection of images i've taken over the years walking through this forest near me. i sort of realized that if i put them all together it might be cool to watch the seasons change. i hope you like it. I'd like to see other's photos that they think best represent a certain season, or maybe the transition between them... but i thought this might be a bit disruptive to a discussion post so i made it into an article. Spring My least favourite time of year, only because its between my two favourite seasons! Because spring is a time of transition i feel myself either missing the cold or waiting for the leaves to grow back. Maybe i can try and be more appreciative this year, but i suppose its ok to not like some things.... Summer The forest in summer is my second favourite time. You can feel and hear the life all around you, and the shade is so relieving even if it does get very humid near the water. Autumn Unfortunately the most fleeting season here as Winter and Summer run very long. The leaves only stay this colour for a week or so in the whole year, so catching it is especially exciting. Winter Personally, I think the forest is most beautiful after fresh snowfall. It's as if everything has been crystallized in time. it helps that im usually one of the few one out there when it gets that cold, it feels like i'm the only one in the whole world. The End have a happy new year!
Toobie This is really cool! Makes me want to go outside more. I feel like around me there’s less and less forests and more houses getting built around.
Somnolence When I think of Spring, I think of rain and mud. Everything is dirty after winter, wet, and miserable. However... those shots of the mist are really nice, it'd be a nice place to hike. A lake, or a bog even, is quite representative of the season. It's a place where life has congregated around it, one that is more likely than not dead quiet this time of year. Also really nice comparison between the first Summer and Autumn shots.
sanner Somnolence Yep, finding which spring photos to represent that season was definitely the hardest because i think it's identity so relies on the previous and following seasons. Most of the photos seemed more like dull winter or summer days rather than its own character, so i'm glad you enjoyed some of misty ones. Everyone always says that spring is a time of hope, when it is returning, but to me its more like a reminder of all the life that was taken in the winter.
gingermilk Nice collection! I need to go on a hike in our local park more often. We have a similar lake over here and lots of deers as well!
