On and off again since early this year I've been playing around with Suno rolling the dice on some various song ideas. I've built up a decent sized song list and a lot of them have ended up on the car playlist becoming favourites of my wife and I. I think it's quite incredible. A few years ago I never would have thought I could essentially make a personalized music playlist with decent sounding music about whatever subject and genre you want.
Last night I was playing around with the persona feature. It was kind of junk when Suno first introduced it but it's improved considerably. Matching the vocals a lot better than before. I liked the vocals in this song about depression and tried writing some stuff from the perspective of a woman for fun. I came up with three ideas but the best one by far was All my Panties are Period Panties. My wife was singing the chorus this morning while I was making coffee so I think that'll be her personal favourite for a bit. Her previous favourite was Everything's a God Dammed Taco. A song about how pretty much all Mexican food is a variation of a taco. Seriously there are pages online dedicated to what Mexican foods aren't tacos that you could make.
My personal favourite is Kool-Aid. A funk horror song about the Kool-Aid man. Runner up being Homeless Chic. A nonsense funk song about homeless fashion. Other notable mentions are a reggae song about Spaghetti Afrocentric about a man obsessed with his afro, I'm Just a Dog a country song from the perspective of a dog. and Electric Barns on Server Farms about the emerging AI economy.
Anyway with V4 released a few days ago I was curious if anyone else here is playing around with this stuff. I'm finding V4 is certainly a lot more detailed in it's mix being less muddy and reverby than previous versions and the vocals are a lot better than what we've had before. But I'm finding it all sounds rather thin. It's especially evident when you use the remix feature on old songs. It seems to strip a lot of the character out of a song.
