What Is the Goal of this Forum?
I think there is a space for people to post about their interests without requiring sites like reddit or discord.
This is early days for the site so things may change quite a lot but I hope you find things or post things you like.
This is not a overtly political site, i'd like us to keep things to interests, that doesn't mean you cant talk about political events regarding things, however for the time being if we could keep things like policy discussions to a minimum. I may change this as the userbase evolves and matures.
an example of a political topic that is allowed would be say:
Recasting x characters for y reason or retconning events for overtly political reasons.
I'd like this site to ideally be a more positive one, with edgyposting and arguments more so on the fediverse. Not to say that you cant disagree or be negative, but lets try to keep it in the realm of passion.
Sign up
There is no email verification, so you wont get an email to have to confirm once you sign up. Using an actual email will help me in case I need to contact you, although it will be manually via email.
I am still working on alternative signup options, so far only the google OAuth has given me any joy, I have still been working on other sites, ie Twitter and Discord, getting integration with their sign-ins working for those who dont want to/cant sign up via normal means.
Tags
Currently the focus for the users is 'games, anime and tech', that doesnt mean that you cannot make other threads, you'll be surprised what people have a shared interest in. Just because there isnt a thread or a tag for it, make a misc thread and we'll see how it goes.
There is no worries or stress if your thread doesnt pick up immediately, it is what it is. As the forum grows and changes there'll be a thread already 😉
Any tag ideas I am typically happy to indulge.
Costs
The forum has been upgraded as of 08/12/22, this has increased costs but should also have increased performance for everyone. I host this out of personal interest and enjoyment.

Posting rules and etiquette
As a general rule, try to match the tone of the rest of the forum and the users that are already here. When in Rome and all that.
Posts can be edited until the next reply, so a faster paced thread wont have as much editing.

Advertising other sites/services
I am not a massive stickler, I know everyone has to get eyes on their projects and sites somehow. However please dont just join the site to advertise something if you have no plans on using this site. If you are going to advertise something you've made, post it in a relevant thread. I may add a tag specific to the act of advertising your own thing and will update the page if/when that happens.

Lastly I'd like for us to try and post in a way that enables people to come to the site and either learn something or be able to enjoy reading the site. We shall see how things develop.
