Welcome to another monthly update -slightly late edition. I've been dealing with some issues lately (seems to never end) so i've not been putting the time toward all of the tasks i'd like to have dedicated time to. That being said, there's always something to update on! I'm hoping the next month or two will be more exciting update-wise.
Removal of Messaging
Last month we had a short lived stint with a direct messaging extension on the site. Due to various factors it has been removed.
I was not fully on board with the functionality and the lack of oversight I had at all, as well as just generally a lackluster experience in my opinion. This would have been likely improved over time, but the developer has abandoned the extension just after I removed it from the site. For the time being I would suggest using XMPP for your messaging needs, although it is separate from the site.
Tag Revamp
As i'm sure you're all aware of now, I have revamped the tags on the site with the goal of making things simpler for users, old and new and hopefully avoiding some decision paralysis. Only the primary tags (as they are called in the forum backend) have been changed, alongside their subtags. Secondary tags have not been changed aside from the removal of 'genthread'. In the case of Genthread threads, so long as they have the word General in their name they can be searched up easily enough.

Leisure & Culture combines most of the main tags from the original tags. I did like how specific that you could get for tagging things, but I think for the userbase at this time a more general tagging will work better.

Languages
Biznazz
These two primary tags, Tech & Lifestyle and Humanities & Econ, have been separated so that they can be expanded in future if appropriate.

This serves for anything that is not covered under the current list of tags and does not have its own tag.
Moderation
NSFW/Ecchi
This tag is the same from before, I am still unsure on where any place that NSFW has on the site. As stated in the past, I may remove it in future or if the second site becomes a thing, it may have a home there.

This is a shorter one this month. I am still working slowly on outlining a sister-site to SheepishPatio but i've been very busy IRL and havent dedicated the time i'd liked to have to it.
