Fun videogames only you played

What it says on the tin. Share obscure videogames that seemingly nobody but you has played, but with the caveat that they can't be terrible or boring. Firstly, Perimeter. This one is a weird Russian RTS whose gimmick is terraforming. You generate power by building pylons on flat terrain, which then harvest energy from a circle around them. Many units can disturb or go through terrain and the process of making units is unique too. Instead of building tanks or planes, you make simple little goons that you can then morph into higher tier units in the field or devolve back into lower tier units. Overall, it's very fun and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes RTS. Don't play the expansion or the second game though, both of those are shit. Secondly, I'd like to share Original War. This one's not very unique gameplay-wise, it plays like any RTS from the early 2000's or late 90's, but it has a very unique story and an interesting artstyle. Basically, it's about the US and Soviets fighting each other in 200.000BC for natural resources with suicide bomber cavemen, metal bawxes and solar powered cars.

Somnolence

I'd be curious if anyone here ever played StarKnights, it was something of an 90s 4X game in the style of Stellaris, but with a pseudo Warhammer 40k skin. To my understanding, the multiplayer side of it is still going. I've never heard any one else even mention the game before.

Not the sexiest game in the world, so I'll also ask if anyone has played any of the Arkhouse games. He (?) is an indie developer that's been at it for something like 10 years now, coming up with very difficult, and very bizarre games that look and play great. Never come close to a hit though, their best seller is Cube Gothic at a whopping 38 steam reviews.

I feel like only I've played custom robo and warioware mega party games on the GameCube. It's like Gundam but on a pretty legit and evenly matched gameplay form and maps, and Mario Party, but another good one.

Sergeek Highfleet is awesome but i liked devs previous game Hammerfight more. It came out during early indie era of games and due to its russian origin remained under the radar of many, imo completely unjustly! It is an action physics game where you use your mouse to control a helicopter equipped with swords and hammers and giant cannons that are connected by a ball joint. so by spinning the copter your hammer spins with it and like that you can smash enemy copters and monsters. Its super fun and awesome it is the only game to date that i know of that fully utilizes all the unique properties of a computer mouse. It set in a similarly unique setting as highfleet (possiblly the same setting) arabic steam punk dune but with flying worms. It has many game modes and lots of content.

it is a snake like game except you control your snake by "wiggling" (wiki says that the proper term is undulatory locomotion) the better your wiggle skills are the better you are at the game highly polished free game its quite fun

Pedestrian BTW for those who want to try game. it was made ages ago it still launches no porbs but you might want to check out steam guides for some tweaks for one it has trouble with newer mouses and newer monitors

It had a few different names around the world, in Japan it was called Hippa Linda, in Europe Freak Out and in America Stretch Panic. Stretch Panic seems to be what most people call it now. It's a very weird game to say the least lol. The game is pretty short and is a glorified boss rush but it's pretty fun. You play as Linda as she battles her 12 sisters that have been turned into demons to exorcise them and make them normal again. You do that by using her scarf that has come to life which stretches the bosses and makes them lose HP. It's as weird as it sounds.

The look of the game is very bizarre and pretty low poly but I think the art style works around that pretty neatly. The game is most well known for the few levels that aren't boss arenas where you encounter enemies with some "interesting" design lol. The game isn't amazing but it's a short, fun ride.

Okay so I have never heard anyone else talk about this game: Gubble. It was on an old disc I got from my parents with a huge collection of games, the majority pacman games. It was my absolute favorite disc and I was obsessed with pacman as a kid.

Baroque is a game I played recently. It has a sega saturn version and a ps2 remake (and a ps1/phone visual novel) but I've only played the Saturn version
It's a first person shooter horror rpg game with vague themes and It's genuinely scary and hard. It's the scariest Game I've played, and I really like horror. Probably my fav horror game after SH 2,3 and 4.

The game takes place in the nerve tower, where you need to progress to higher levels. There's a wide array of different items that do wacky shit (with extra cryptic names) and swords that have different stats and you know the deal
The music is awesome, complementing the atmosphere of the game perfectly. The movement is really restrictive (Imagine Silent hill but It's in first person and then make it 10 times clankier) which makes the game actually challenging and scary

It was REALLY HARD to find an English rom that worked properly, and way harder to find a saturn emulator that could run it, but I managed to make it work with mednafen. I probably put more hours tryig to make the game run than actually play the game XD
anyways, if you like horror, definitely play this. but make sure to save the game with the emulator cause when you save in game, it doesn't let you continue and forces you to quit. The devs were really not fond of the whole "saving your progress" concept lol

It is kind of weird to say that "this game has so bad controls it's challenging". It's like calling navigating bad UI "challenging". Or claiming that ridicolous physics in the US version of Automodelista make the game challenging.
Bad stuff is bad, in my opinion, and it makes the game worse... but, well, ultimately, whatever works for you. I find soul in cheap B-movies like VelociPastor, so who am I to judge.

Ross_R I do really have a thing for restrictive controls I guess, I wouldn't consider them to be bad at all. they make the game feel more authentic and human-like/realistic to me.

This was the shit when I was little. It's not as underground as some of the other entries in here but I never hear anyone talk about it and don't think many have played it. Pretty solid video game adaptation of Scooby Doo. Laugh track and everything. Even a CG remake of the original Scooby Doo theme song at the start. The vibe is nailed.

My friends have introduced me to some really fun games on itch.io that literally almost no one has played. I'll try to find them and report back.

For me, it's gotta be Spinch. It's a challenging platformer with a very psychedelic artstyle, I am surprised Adult Swim did not make this. I haven't beat it but I did like it, the visuals are very trippy and I'm normally not into that aesthetic.

You play as valet drivers taking cars from point A to point B. Pretty dang fun especially if you play with a friend. Multiplayer is only local, in other words the best kind of multiplayer. Itch.io is full of crazy games that if you played you would be one of the few people on the face of the planet to have played.

Behold a game so difficult and esoteric, there is barely a wiki page for it and you are EXPECTED to have a notebook to write notes in at all times, just like a REAL archaeologist adventurer. He is basically Japanese-American Indiana Jones. Tread carefully... If you value your sanity, you could just play the sequel which they made way easier.

Now that's a coincidence. I found out about this series just a month or two ago, by trying to search for games that allow you to interact with Ancient Egypt anyhow. There are really not much of those around, so, hey, here's one more from me while I'm here: Pharaonic.
Anyone played it? Described as 2.5D-Dark-Souls-like, whatever... I liked it. Not a fan of Dark Souls, but I didn't find it hardcore. Either I'm good, or the game is not that hard.
Anyway, yeah, once again: I liked it. A lot. I completed it 2 or 3 times. Pharaonic is awesome. Yet I never met anyone who'd played that game.

Anyway, yeah, La Mulana. I ended up deciding against playing it after all - there's not enough of Ancient Egypt in there to entice me - but I did download the second part just to extract the sprites of the Gods.

Thoth looks just strikingly with all the rich blue. And Inpu with red hair is... peculiar. I believe, I never saw Inpu depicted in any colors but shades of black, so the addition of red hair really catches the eye.
