I have never seen Tencent as an issue. But I'm also a China shill.
From what I've seen most of the games they own they do not tell the devs heavily what to do. I've enjoyed a lot of games from them and they are far from being as insiduous as EA, Ubisoft, or Actiblizz.
Of course, that is abstracted from the potential of being spied on by China of which I personally do not care.

Also my favorite Key is Rewrite. It was the first visual novel I ever bought. I have a cool box of it and even went out and bought the expansion or whatever for it. I've never read the expansion, Harvest Festa, because I don't really like Sekai Project. The dude who was translating it but got bought by them and instead of being free it's not a paid product. I never even bothered to look for a "free" version.
