Alright, time to shill myself.
This thing sits on a chair right behind my back and plays local radio almost 24/7.
Any particular reason? Not really, I just wanted an old boombox for quite some time, and out of machines available, this one was the golden one between the price and the quality.
When I want to listen to something other than a radio, I usually attach a small golden Sony Walkman NWZ-B183 to it. Once again, no particular reason. I've just found that particular Walkman in my home one day. Someone probably gifted it to me in the 2000's, but I do not remember using it, and so it survived safely stashed.
For vinyl discs I use Audio-Technica 770 Sound Burger. Original device from the 80's. This one has particular reason: I've wanted a compact vinyl player that wouldn't take much place, and at the moment of purchase vintage units were miles ahead modern ones in terms of quality (in 2022 Audio Technica released a limited run of modern, brand new Sound Burgers, duh). So I was aiming at something like Sony PS-F5 or Sound Burger from the start - was able to grab a very decent Sound Burger for just a bit above a 100$. I've performed some works on it, and now it works quite alright. Suits all my needs.
I also have Sony Discman D-88. Reason: it looks cool. I only use it on camera though. It has some troubles playing some discs for whatever reason, perhaps the laser is slowly dying... I dread the day I will have to repair it, the machine looks very delicate.
And on the road I usually play music with my Nokia Lumia 822. I try to downgrade to N-Gage though, but I've yet to find a good 2.5 Jack to 3.5 Jack adapter. Somehow every single one I've found only have two contacts - Nokia's original 2.5 had three, and I guess that's the reason it doesn't work quite right. But, well, soon enough.
