Octopath Traveler II
Such a cozy little jrpg. I never got the chance to play the first game, but I have found all of the stories to be very good. Only gripe is that after you get a few characters encounters become trivial.
I like the fact that characters give you the ability to interact with towns. Although it breaks the role play element that you can just rob an entire town and all be okay. I do like the backstories for all of the NPCs, that makes it fun.

Music is good. I love the 2D/3D look.

This game is frigging great. It feels exactly like those 80s and 90s scifi action movies. Advancing through a level and beating it is just so satisfying. Aand at the end of each you're awarded with a cheesy fmv cutscene. Sadly the controls are very confusing and clunky, or I just don't get them, but it makes aiming and shooting fun.
But the best thing about it, and what really sets the scene, is the soundtrack.

Sadly I've not been playing a whole lot lately, only games that are self contained. So the likes of csgo, ror2, vampire survivors. Stuff like that. Just been busy at work and also working on various server bits

Only other thing has been every few days, me and another friend have been cooping halo 2.

DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. I'm on that level... I'm pretty pleased with myself. I used to be pretty good. I picked it back up on hard skill and am plowing through it. I remember this level where you have to fight kid but as Mr Satan/Hercule. You don't fight him so much as survive till you can swap out but he is aggressive as fuck. After i got gifted it for Christmas from an Anon, im finally getting to playing Ace Combat 7. It's quite an exhilarating experience especially since i haven't had much experience with the flight sim genre beforehand. Flying straight for an enemy when he's coming toward you, launching missiles and dodging the aircraft at the right moment as he's destroyed is more satisfying than it has any right to be.

Excelent choice. Have you done the ps2 titles? 4, 5 and zero? Best in the series. Can't wait for 8.

Gigachad I've only played Unsung War (idk the number for it) but it was prwtty awesome back then. Playing the rest of the the series is definitely on my "To do... eventually" list.

Number 5. Once again, excellent taste. That was my first ace combat. You can safely skip assault horizon. It removes dogfighting and makes the fights a cinematic chase cam thing and is just terrible. The helicopters were cool but the forced chase cam dogfights ruined the whole game. The rest of the series is worth a playthrough. They get good at 3 and peak at zero. Comes back up at 7. 6 was good but cringe writing.

Zero makes a boss fight out of this and it is the absolute fucking shit with the flamenco music. Top 10 boss fight.

Gigachad Haven't played the PS2 games yet, 7 is my first one. Hearing that those are even better makes me excited to get into those when i get the chance

yukarihinata I finally decided to play undertale. I know the plots and all endings already but it is still interesting to play through it on your own and the music is extremely good.

Fantasy

I play Mabinogi incredibly casual every day.
But today I started playing Fuga, the furry tank game. If you ignore the furry part its pretty good. Battles aren't a pushover, there's no grinding, the quality of the art is good, the soundtrack is very good and certain songs really give me that .hack vibe. And the game is made by the .hack devs so it makes sense.
A friend also bought me Death's Door which is like a top down action game with light puzzle solving. It's eh, really dull a lot of the time and the parts that are enjoyable don't happen often. I'm only 4-5 hours in but I don't think it's going to be super much longer.

I'm going to try some non-traditional rhythm games soon. Hi-fi Rush, Infinite Guitars, No Straight Roads, and a soon to be released game God of Rock are all on my list. I don't know if I'll play them all but it's going in that order.

I played this as a teen. I got pretty far on disc 2 and there was a difficulty spike and I never beat it. I bought another copy (couldn't get the disc image to work from the hdd) and it's been alot of fun. The dungeons are long (+1 hour to beat) but (mostly) fair. I'm almost done with disc 1.

After that I'll be resuming

I love having a ps2 again. I missed these games so much.

Gigachad Star Ocean is one of those series' that I've always thought would be cool to play but never sit down to. I think I own 2 games from the series as well. Haven't even booted them up.
If I ever buy a PS2 again I should make sure to grab them.

It's not bad. It's not great either. The story is better than the gameplay but that may also be a me problem for making the MC a melee guy and not using magic at all.

Here's my biggest bitch. You die if you run out of mp. So this son of a bitch takes me from 3k hp to like 300 mp. The first boss I had to try a second time and the punchable face really doesn't help.

For real though, the story is the best part but it doesn't get great till disc 2. The dungeon music is funny. The organ player fuckin tears it up.

Ok. This star ocean 3 game turned total bullshit. So losing all MP causes you to die. So at the end of the game most enemies barely attack your health. Something 100-300 average an attack. Fine, i have 8000 health. But they all now primarily attack your MP. So i go from 8000 health to 700 mp on my best fighter. I have to put points into MP and he doesn't even have the ability to use MP. And there are no party mana healing items, so if your getting your shit pushed in mid fight good luck using three items before the first person you used an item on needs it again. You also can't reduce mana damage taken. It's so incredibly stupid. If you didn't want me to be strong just make me get injured or something mid game and reduce my stats. Don't make my health bar irrelevant and swap it for my mana bar. It also has no problems making you backtrack halfway across the world mid dungeon to grab a single item in the first room of another dungeon and hoof it back to the first.

I thought i got slick and did some griding at a good spot and put on 10 levels. I cant imagine getting as far as i did without doing that. Holy shit the difficulty jumped off a cliff when they unofficially swapped my hp for mp. I may not beat this bitch. It's rage inducing how cheap it suddenly became. Story is still great but holy shit does this one make me yell at the tv.

Not to mention the times the AI breaks and just decides its gonna sit the fight out. Always a good time.

I have recently picked up mount and blade war and again. Maybe my favorite game of all time. I love being a complete dickhead and raiding villages and selling all of the villagers into slavery for barely any money. Nothing better than being rich as fuck, best armor in the game, best weapons etc, top tier soldiers and fighting random villagers with pitchforks and rocks for weapons.

I'm currently playing TerraGenesis and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on my phone and Minecraft on Switch. TerraGenesis is a great game to just mess around with.

I've been poking around my brother's steam library and installed Specs Ops The Line. I knew about it already and how it is a mind trippy deconstruction due to watching a couple of vids about it a few years ago so I was somewhat spoiled already, but I'm pretty into it so far and actually playing the game is a whole different experience. Its also a legit fun shooter, too, which is kinda surprising considering what the game set itself out to do.

Spec ops the line was one of those games I randomly played knowing nothing about it and walked away a massive fan.
