I love MGS3 but also am not in a rush to replay it again (again). I'll wait and see. I don't really feel any particular loyalty to Kojima beyond having supported his projects for the many years. He's going to be just fine.

Fantasy

I don't think a Metal Gear Solid game without Kojima can possibly be good.
Him and his team are what made those games. Not the characters, story, or setting.
It being a remake as well instead of a new game also irks me. I already have MGS3, I can just play it right now.

The metal gear HD ports are now out on PC
They haven't been received super well

My friend bought the MGS3 Steam release, it runs fine but there is basically no menus and he has to change the audio levels via the windows sound options
I Think that Konami are going to be adding keyboard controls in a patch but its somewhat shameful really

I thought about buying them but due to the price and my experience on Vita I'll keep waiting. There's so many games to buy and play before I even consider relooking into the series I don't know if it's worth it.
Though I am curious to see how the weird stuff like the Castlevania reference work. I own every Vastlevania game on steam and I wonder if they altered it to detect that.

I remember playing the first MGS game blind. I got the game for dirt cheap second hand. It was already nearly a decade old when I got my hands on it. It didn't come with the CD case so this made finding Meryl's codec number the most painful part of the game. I eventually just gave in and found it online.

Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 changed my way of thinking a lot, and I really appreciate it. The gameplay is astounding considering that I don't see that many stealth games nowadays as good as they were. I didn't play MGS3, 4 5 because of not having any way to play them, so are they as great as the first two games?
