I loved my wii u. I dont see why people complain about it. Most of the switches early biggest hits are ports of wii u games. This is also why I'm not super torn up. Not much will be lost. When the wii 1 dies a shit load will be lost. Thousand plus titles on that bitch. Although to be fair most were shit. Historical purposes are my reasoning on that being considered a loss. Still sad to hear about the wii u though. I bet nintendo tries to pretend it never happened like the virtual boy.
With it being a nand issue I wonder if you can just replace a chip and reflash it? Nintendo could easily put the rom up on a website.
